Can I expect and adjustment on my first visit?

Yes. We want to get you out of pain and healing as soon as possible. Most patients are adjusted on their first visit.

Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?

No. Chiropractic adjustments usually do not hurt. Most patients tell us that chiropractic adjustments actually feel good. Although it does not happen often, chiropractic adjustments are sometimes followed by slight soreness the next day. Similar to how your body feels after a workout, sometime changes can cause soreness and muscles rebuild and heal.

Please note that if you come to us with some pain, the problem area may be sensitive to touch. If this is the case, you can be confident that we will be as gentle as possible. We will do our best to work with your body and get the job done without making you more uncomfortable.

Once I start seeing a chiropractor, do I have to come forever?

At Health Connection Chiropractic, we believe that our best lives are lived with a clear nervous system. We support each stage of care for our patients in the acute stage, corrective stage, and maintenance and wellness stage. Each stage is part of the healing process, and we will support each individual health goal. Our practice members regularly choose to continue care to elevate their health and wellness because they notice positive changes to the way they feel and function post adjustment. Just like exercise is a part of healthy living practices, chiropractic as a lifestyle choice is a proactive and preventative form of care!

Is it safe to be adjusted by a chiropractor while pregnant?

What’s amazing is that not only is it completely safe to get adjusted during pregnancy, but we also have special techniques that we utilize specifically for our pregnant mommas. When you’re a part of our family, you can also choose to add a chiropractor to your birth team who will be with you at every stage of your care. Dr. Mary has extensive experience attending births, and one of her greatest joys is getting the call to support and adjust momma in any stage of labor or postpartum. The most common feedback we get from our new mommas is that they feel greater ease in their bodies when receiving chiropractic care. Our moms report they feel empowered, connected and strong during labor and also experience easier and shorter labor times. As the body continually adapts to the changes throughout each phase of pregnancy, chiropractic care can help with so much more than sciatica and round ligament pain.

Why should I get my child checked by a chiropractor?

Many parents choose positive pathways to health and wellness to support their children as they live, play and grow. Pediatric Chiropractic care is a preventative and proactive approach to wellness. Pediatric chiropractic care is both safe and gentle, empowering children to thrive from the start. Many of our families like to have their babies checked in the first moments, first days, or first weeks of life. We focus on empowering our practice members to have the most optimally functioning nervous systems, creating health early in life!

What is the Webster Technique and how will it benefit me throughout my pregnancy?

The Webster Technique is a certification attained through specialized and continued training via the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. The Webster Technique is a method of focused, specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment of the pelvis and its surrounding ligaments. This technique facilitates the optimal neuro biomechanical function of the pelvis and relieves intrauterine constraint caused by torsion or tension. During pregnancy, we utilize the Webster Technique to promote ample space for baby as it grows and moves in the womb, in addition to creating an optimal position to prepare mom and baby for the birth process.

Yes, we accept most insurances. We accept Medicare, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield. It depends on your insurance. Generally speaking, most plans cover acute care. Most insurances cover chiropractic care for acute purposes only. Acute treatment plans have increased frequency in visits to help for a short course of time and are not designed for maintenance care. We find that long-term maintenance care is not usually covered. However, HSA or Flex spending cards can often be used when regular insurance will not cover.
